The Treachery of Sanctuary
by Chris Milk

Interactive Projections

I teamed up with Chris Milk and Ben Tricklebank to direct the software development for their latest installation for the San Francisco Creators Project event.

The Treachery of Sanctuary is three towering projections above a still reflecting pool. Standing before the display you are surprised as your shadow begins to dissolve, transforming into hundreds of small birds fluttering upwards to join the flock. Within just a few moments your silhouette has completely disintegrated leaving no trace of you left in the image.

Forth

Permanent Interactive Projection

The University of Central Florida in Orlando commissioned Karolina Sobecka to create an art installation in the lobby of the newly constructed Partnership III building, home to the Institute for Simulation and Training.

Forth is an interactive projection depicting a vast and changing sea populated with people in boats. The ocean and weather change with the time of day and real time data from internet weather services. Visitors on site can also interact with the projection by placing small paper boats on the ocean's surface.

The experience is heightened by a sound environment which responds to the weather and visitors passing through the space.

Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas Lobby Columns

Generative Graphics Installation

Lead by the LAB @ Rockwell, the permanent installation in the West Lobby of the new Cosmopolitan Hotel/Casino features eight giant central columns wrapped in LCD screens and mirrors featuring live generative graphics.

The Lab created three unique generative designs for the 384 independently controllable screens. Throughout the day, the images shift through the four seasons, or transform the room into an effervescent chamber, or showcase a a dance performance.

Hikari Cube

Interactive Sculpture

In collaboration with Miya Ando, we created an interactive light sculpture from steel and electronics. Intended as a study of how non-sentient objects are able to absorb the energy around them, the Hikari Cube responds to those who pass by with responsive patterned light.
